AIHA TeleWeb at Argus-Hazco Training Facility
By Carrie Z. Brown, CIH - MIHS Board
MIHS periodically hosts AIHA TeleWeb Virtual Seminars for members. AIHA charges a fee of $295 for each location viewing the TeleWeb, and an additional $35 for each individual requesting CM points. MIHS subsidizes the viewing cost for members and charges only $25 for each person attending. Individual participants seeking CM points are responsible for completing the final exam, evaluation, and submitting the $35 processing fee directly to AIHA. This is a convenient, cost-effective method for maintaining certification. MIHS provides a copy of all presentation materials and the paperwork necessary to submit to AIHA.
The last TeleWeb that MIHS offered was called Cell Phones, Microwaves, Pacemakers and More... Nonionizing Radiation Myths and Realities. Argus-Hazco hosted the TeleWeb in their training facility in Chesterfield and 16 people attended. It was shown live from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. on October 22, 2008 which offered participants the opportunity to ask questions of the presenters. This TeleWeb was approved by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) for 0.5 IH CM points.
A list of upcoming AIHA TeleWebs is posted on the AIHA website under Distance Learning. If you would like MIHS to sponsor a particular topic, please contact a member of the Board of Directors. I can be reached at carrieziehl.brown@gm.com.
